Stashy is a free video and audio downloader for Windows 10 and 11 (64-bit) made by the independent developer H190K. Paste a link from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, Vimeo, SoundCloud, Reddit or many other sites yt-dlp supports, and Stashy saves it as an MP4 with sound at the exact resolution you pick, or as MP3 or M4A audio. It has a download queue, playlists, a command line, and an English and Arabic interface, and it keeps its download tools (yt-dlp, FFmpeg and Deno) up to date by itself. The current version is 1.0.0, released September 26, 2026.

The best video stream and the best audio stream are downloaded separately and merged into one MP4, so every file has sound at every resolution.
The list only shows the resolutions the video really has.
Audio only, converted to MP3 at the bitrate you choose. Plays on anything: phones, car stereos, old music players.
Thumbnail and title are embedded in the file.
Audio only, kept in the site's own AAC quality whenever possible, with no re-encoding. The smallest way to keep a song or a podcast.

Video and audio are fetched separately and merged by FFmpeg, so every MP4 has sound, from 360p all the way up to 4K when the video has it.
The quality list shows only the resolutions a video really has. Pick 4K and you get 2160p, not a silent step down.
Save just the sound as MP3 at 320, 256, 192 or 128 kbps, or as M4A in the original quality.
Add as many links as you like. Each gets its own progress bar, speed and time left, with Cancel, Retry and Show in folder. Up to 4 downloads run at once.
When a link is a playlist, switch on Whole playlist and Stashy saves every video in it.
Sites change often. Stashy keeps yt-dlp, FFmpeg and Deno in its own folder and updates them in one click, so downloads keep working.
Download from any terminal or script once Stashy is on your PATH (an optional checkbox in the installer).

How it works
Copy a link from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or another site and press Ctrl+V in Stashy. Stashy shows the thumbnail, title and length.
Choose MP4, MP3 or M4A and a quality from the list of what the video really has.
Press Download. It joins the queue and lands in your Downloads\Stashy folder, with the quality in its name.
Always working
Video sites change their pages all the time, and downloaders break. Stashy runs the official builds of three open-source tools from its own folder and updates them in one click from the About page, without waiting for a new version of Stashy.

Yes. Stashy is free to download and use: no ads, no account, no trial and no locked features.
Stashy downloads from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X (Twitter), Facebook, Vimeo, SoundCloud, Reddit, Twitch, Dailymotion, Bilibili and many more. It uses yt-dlp, so any site on yt-dlp's supported-sites list can work. Sites change often, so if one stops working, update the tools from Stashy's About page.
Paste the link into Stashy, choose MP4, pick 1080p or 4K from the quality list and press Download. Stashy downloads the best video and audio streams separately and merges them with FFmpeg, so the MP4 always has sound. The list only shows resolutions the video really has, and 4K means you get 2160p. Up to 1080p the MP4 uses H.264 video; 1440p and 4K on YouTube only exist as VP9 or AV1, which play in the Windows 11 Media Player and VLC.
In Stashy, paste the link, choose MP3, pick a bitrate (320, 256, 192 or 128 kbps) and press Download. Stashy saves only the audio, converts it to MP3 and embeds the title and thumbnail. For the original quality without re-encoding, choose M4A instead. From the command line: stashy URL -f mp3 -b 320
Yes. When you paste a playlist link, Stashy shows how many videos it has; switch on Whole playlist and press Download to save them all. From the command line, add --playlist.
Stashy can only download what you could watch yourself. Some videos are age-restricted, private, members-only or need an account on sites like Instagram. If you have access, choose your browser under Settings → Browser cookies (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave or Opera) and Stashy uses your browser's login for that site. Firefox works best, because Chromium browsers lock their cookie file while they're open.
No. Stashy can't download DRM-protected content, which includes Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Spotify and most other paid streaming services. It's made for public videos and audio you're allowed to save.
With Stashy, download only content you own, content with a license that allows it (such as Creative Commons), or content you have the rights holder's permission to save. Many sites' terms of service limit downloading, and the rules depend on your country. You are responsible for how you use Stashy.
Stashy saves to a Stashy folder in your Downloads folder by default, and you can choose another folder in Settings. File names include the quality you got, like Title [id] - 1080p.mp4 or - 320kbps.mp3, so different qualities of the same video never overwrite each other.
Stashy uses three free, open-source tools: yt-dlp finds and downloads the video, FFmpeg merges video and audio and converts to MP3 or M4A, and Deno is a JavaScript runtime yt-dlp needs for YouTube. The installer downloads their official builds (about 250 MB) into Stashy's own folder, and Stashy keeps them up to date from its About page. If you skip that step, Stashy offers to download them the first time you open it.
In Stashy, open About and press Check for tool updates under Tools, then Update tools. Video sites change often and yt-dlp ships fixes every few weeks, so updating fixes most problems. If a site still refuses, try another quality, try again later, or use your browser's cookies for sites that need a login.
No. Stashy has no account, no analytics and no telemetry. It only connects to the sites you download from, to GitHub to download and update yt-dlp, FFmpeg and Deno, and to stashy.h190k.com to check for Stashy updates.
Not yet. Stashy is free to use, but its source code isn't public yet. It's built on open-source software (Python, Qt/PySide6) and uses yt-dlp, FFmpeg and Deno, whose licenses ship with the app.
Stashy runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11, 64-bit (x64). It installs just for your user account, so it doesn't need admin rights.
Stashy isn't code-signed yet (certificates are expensive for an indie app), so SmartScreen may say it "protected your PC" the first few times. Click More info, then Run anyway. If you want to be sure the file is genuine, compare its SHA-256 with the one on the download page.
